If travelling to Kuala Lumpur, which hotel is the best place to stay in?
I will be staying for 3 nights and plan to go to Genting, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park and KLCC. Also, will the hotel give free shuttle service to these destinations or should I avail of land tour packages instead? budget of MYR400 for 3 nights As long as the place is great, near my destinations and if possible, offers free shuttle service, I can stretch my budget to MYR500. If you know of good hotel packages, I would greatly appreciate it too. Thanks. Sorry, typo error. That was supposed to be RM 450 per night, not 3 nights. @Melaka Lotus: Thanks! Too bad our arrival is time is at midnight, that already counts as 1 night right? Since check-in time is usually at 3pm. Are stores in Petaling Street and Golden Triangle open until midnight? We are planning to go to Genting Highlands from 9AM-4PM on a Friday, Sunway Theme Park on a Saturday and the City Tour on a Sunday. I scheduled it on a Sunday because we have to check out at 3PM and head to the airport at 9PM. And if I schedule Genting & Sunway on the last day, we would have to check out before spending the day and might get too exhausted before the flight. I am worried that some establishments may be closed on Sunday though.

- Motel 6, broski. That place is so fly, it comes with INTERNET! Its totally 5 stars.
- You should define your budget so that we can give you a better answer. From the brief information you gave, I would stay near KLCC, e.g. Mandarin Oriental, Hotel Maya, Corus Hotel and move around from there. You can take a taxi to/from Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. No real need to get a tour package for that as it is a whole day playing in one theme park. For Genting, you can check with your hotel, or if you feel adventurous enough, go to Puduraya and get a bus/cab to Genting.
- You're not going to get anything remotely like a "great" hotel for RM133.33 per night! You may get a room in such as Cititel (which is connected to the Mid-Valley Megamall, so you can shop just by your room whenever you're not out and about) for around the RM200/night mark.
- Hi Ella, The 3 destinations are apart from each other. KLCC is in the Kuala Lumpur City centre and you should put up one night to explore the areas around it. There is a Hop On Hop Off bus to take you around the tourist sites. There are hotels for reasonable rates around RM80-100 with basic facilities. I believe only the 4-5star hotels provide free shuttle. But services vary so you can always check them out. Then you can take a coach/bus to Gentings (ask the hotel reception how to get the transport to Gentings) from whichever hotel you stay. Best to call up Gentings to book if you plan to stay a night. they are always fully booked or just take a day trip and start early. Most people do stay a night to enjoy the cool air, entertainment, casino, and other attractions like jungle treks etc. Sunway Lagoon is another theme park attraction and you can also stay at the hotel there or some other nearby, as Sunway has 4-5 star rated hotels and outside your budget. You can do this upon returning from Gentings or before going up to Gentings. Some hotels do packages, and vary from hotel to hotel so you have to check it out.
