About Us
Sunway Medical Centre Laboratory earns the distinction of being the first private medical institution in Malaysia to be awarded with MS ISO 15189 in year 2005 and Westgard Sigma Verification certification in 2014. The following field of testing is accredited under MS ISO 15189: Chemical Pathology, Hematology inclusive Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology and Anatomical Pathology (Histopathology and Cytopathology).
Westgard QC assessed the analytical performance and determined 29 SunMed laboratory assays for sigma quality of 4 Sigma and higher at critical decision levels. The Department Of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers a range of laboratory services covering both routine and specialized testing. There are 48 Quality Indicators covering all aspects of the Laboratory from Pre- analytical, Analytical and Post Analytical phases focusing on Quality and Safety Outcomes
