Histopathology is a study of biological tissue for diseases under macro & microscopic examination. The examination is done on biopsy or surgical specimens by Consultant Pathologist.

What this test for?
For rapid diagnostic cases during intraoperative procedure

Specimen & Container: Fresh Tissue

Transportation Requirement: Tissue must be send to the lab immediately without any fixation liquid

Test Schedule: 3 days prior booking is required, Daily , if specimen is received before 6 pm for Monday to Friday and 12 pm for Saturday

Method: Cryosection

Turnaround Time: 45 minutes

What this test for?
To study of biological tissue for diseases under microscopic examination

Specimen & Container: Formalin fixed Tissue

Transportation Requirement: Tissue must be fixed with 10% buffered formalin of ~10x volume of the tissue size.

Test Schedule: Daily , if specimen is received before 6 pm for Monday to Friday and 12 pm for Saturday

Method: Fomalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded

Turnaround Time: Rapid specimen (biopsy) : 1 working day if received before 11 am
Uncomplicated to small: 3 working days
Small to medium : 5 working days
Large to complex: 7 working days

IHC is a further investigation with the purpose of supporting pathological diagnostic and also for patient’s oncology management.

Specimen & Container: Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue

Transportation Requirement: Paraffin embedded tissue must be send to the lab.

Method: Automated staining for antibody detection under microscopic examination

Turnaround Time: 7 Working days
